When Fashion Meets Arts | Original New Orientalism Aesthetics Interaction

 To showcase the more creative oriental aesthetics to the world and seek oriental aesthetic right to voice opinions on world fashion as well as developing and cultivating more excellent original fashion designers, the “New Oriental Aesthetics Fashion Design Commonweal Exhibition and Luo Zheng Scholarship Award Ceremony” jointly organized by Shenzhen Oriental Fashion International Culture Communication Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Fashion Clothing Design Industry Association was held at Luo Garden, 2/F, OCT Harbour on 12 December.

The mighty power of oriental aesthetics has never diminished since the proposal of “Prominence is beauty” by confucianists more than 1,000 years ago up to now. It is only its way of expression that changes with alternations of time and space.

New Oriental Aesthetics Fashion Design Commonweal Exhibition, born at the award ceremony of the “Second Original Fashion Design Commonweal Plan Invitational Competition”, inherits the spirit of original design, but with the essence of dedicating to spreading oriental aesthetics, seeks an expression that is more vigorous and modern for traditional culture.

As Ms. Luo Zheng, Initiator of theNew Oriental Aesthetics Fashion Design Commonweal Exhibition and Chairwoman and Art Director of Shenzhen Oriental Fashion Co., Ltd. said in the interview, “Oriental aesthetics is nothing of an illusion. It should not be stuck in theory and concept.The hosting of the New Oriental Aesthetics Fashion Design Commonweal Exhibition is to find for oriental aesthetics a kind of expression through routine life that is close to reality, to allow people to have a taste of designers’ talents and creativity at a closer distance and to really let arts into life. Only designs that are able to generate strong connection with contemporary life and perfectly integrate into it are truly ductile and have space for survival.”The whole exhibition will last from 12 to 30 December.

The award ceremony of the “Second Original Fashion Design Commonweal Plan Invitational Competition” was concurrently held at the event site. The competition is intended to hunt for novel and creative designs to support new professional blood and talents of original design in China’s fashion design. The competition has lasted for over half year and received thousands of competing works. After rounds of fierce competition, the First, Second and Third Prize, Best Online Popularity Award and Prospective Designer Special Award were finally presented. The award winners will receive the sponsorship from “Luo Zheng Scholarship” to do further study in The Fashion and Design Training Centre of Istituto Marangoni Shenzhen.

Luo Zheng Scholarship is established with 1 million yuan by Ms. Luo Zheng, China Fashion Designer Top Award “Jinding Award” Winner Designer. It is intended to offer scholarship and support to young and excellent original fashion designers, thus developing and nurturing more new blood for China’s original design.

When speaking of the original intention of establishing the scholarship, Luo Zheng says, “In 2003, as a nobody in fashion industry, I won my first international fashion design award - the top place for America NAUTICA Creativity Fund Platinum Award Top Ten New Designers. Thanks to the prize of $25,000 received from the contest, I was able to hold a fashion show in everyone’s dreamy art palace - Louvre in France. Since then, I have started my first step towards the international fashion stage. Because of the award, I told myself then that “If I succeed in the future, I will use my power to help more people with design gift to realize their dream.” So the establishment of Luo Zheng Scholarship is merely an honor of my promise years ago.’
